Preview - American Youth Tour feat. HALSEY, YOUNG RISING SONS and special guest OLIVVER
As 2014 wrapped up, dark pop princess Halsey and indie rock band Young Rising Sons announced that they will be embarking on a co-headlining tour together in early 2015. Just when we thought this tour couldn't get any better, the artists announced they will be joined by Olivver, a rising singer and songwriter out of Los Angeles, CA.
If you've kept up with Capitol Sound, you know we are huge fans of all three of these artists. This past fall, Halsey supported The Kooks on their tour spanning across the US, where she sparked attention as the hottest rising indie pop act in the game. Young Rising Sons also made their debut in the fall opening for The 1975, a tour that also went coast to coast. Due to high exposure and overwhelmingly positive audience reception, it is no wonder that both these acts are taking on the US with their own tour. Our Capitol Sound staff had the opportunity to interview both Halsey and Young Rising Sons on their fall tours, and we can't wait to see them again this time around.
Tickets for the tour went on sale this past Friday, and it completely SOLD OUT in a matter of hours. For two acts going on their very first headlining tour, this is no small feat by any measure. Los Angeles was the last date to go on sale, and sold out in a matter of minutes. Sharing the news, Halsey tweeted her excitement and astonishment over the ticket sale success.
If you're wondering what to expect from the American Youth Tour, look no further. Halsey will most likely command the stage with her dream-like songs and brutally honest lyrics, while captivating audiences with powerful vocals, bouncy dance moves, and probably a new hair color. She will perform songs off her EP Room 93, as well as some new ones we have yet to hear. For Young Rising Sons, we expect an unwavering energy with folky rock tunes from their EP Young Rising Sons, and superb audience reception to match.
Now, as for Olivver...we expect a performance unlike what we've ever experienced before. This is Olivver's debut tour as a solo act, and we cannot wait to see what he brings to the table. Judging by his known creativity and passion for performing, we hope to see him shine in his eclectic, synth pop/R&B style when performing tracks from his EP Freak.
As previously stated, this tour is entirely sold out. However, if you can get your hands on some tickets, we highly recommend it. The American Youth Tour will make stops on the following dates in the following places:
