Our Latest Obsession - Broods
This sibling duo known as Broods has given another powerful punch to the electro/indie pop genre. Originating from Nelson, New Zealand, Georgia and Caleb Nott first entered the music scene with their debut single “Bridges” that ended up in the NZ Top 10. After its online release sometime in October 2013, the single was soon picked up by Idolator and other music blogs, bringing it quite the popularity and attention. With Georgia on the lead vocals, and her older, multi-instrumentist brother, Caleb, on production and backing vocals, they've created a sound in the likes of Chvrches with a dash of Slyvan Esso. They soon released their self-titled EP early 2014. While still maintaining a sound of their own, they've gained quite the promo in the hit MTV show “Catfish” appearing more than once with different singles. After that things picked up for the two musicians when they were offered to tour North America with Haim, then Australia with Ellie Goulding, and finally back in the U.S with the one and only Sam Smith.
Finally, getting time off, they released their debut album, Evergreen, on August 22, 2014. It debuted at No. 1 on the NZ Album chart and achieved them 4 award nominations. Considering both of these extremely talented artist are under the age of 22, they have a clearly bright future in front of them. Won’t be long until they bring their talents to the US and we see them performing on SNL.
