Preview: Matt Corby at Black Cat

matt_corby Ending a lengthy two-year hiatus, Australian singer-songwriter Matt Corby is back with his debut full-length, Telluric.

After a run on Australian Idol as a teen, Corby released his first EP Song For... in 2011. Two years and three EP's later, Corby released his breakthrough EP Into The Flame. The EP featured his hit, Brother. The track went six times platinum in Australia, as well as winning Song of the Year at ARIA Music Awards in 2011. Gaining the attention of respected musical figures, Matt Corby had a much bigger audience when he release his latest EP, Resolution. The title track from Resolution landed Corby another Song of the Year win in 2013. That was the last we heard from Corby, until this past October. He released an acapella track "Monday" and announced his plans for Telluric. Co-produced by Corby himself and Dan Hume, the highly anticipated release was created in a cottage in rural Australia. Telluric is due to be out March 11 via Elektra Records, pre-order the album here. Matt Corby will be on tour in the US this winter, including a sold out stop at Black Cat on January 31.
