Photos: So Much Light at U Street Music Hall

Damien Verrett, the mastermind behind So Much Light played a charming and energetic set at U Street Music Hall on May 10th. Though he performs solo, he packs the energy of a four-piece band in his live set. His vocals soared as he swiftly played guitar, synthesizers, drum pads, triggered samples, and created loops. All while making a point to connect with the crowd through charmingly awkward banter about Washington DC, asking if the Lincoln Theatre is where Abraham Lincoln was assassinated and if everyone in DC worked for the government. Though the crowd assembled for his set was modest in size, Verrett's stage presence and his ability to bring a large sound to life without any other bodies on stage made for an enchanting experience for everyone.
