Lollapalooza week is upon us and to say that Capitol Sound is excited would be a major understatement. giphy-facebook_s

Because we are so hyped for the festival we decided to highlight some of the acts we are most excited to see each day in the next few days leading up to the festival. For those of you who won’t be amongst the thousands of sweaty attendees in Grant Park, make sure you tune into the  Lollapalooza homepage all weekend long to catch live streams of some of the festival’s best! Check out who we're most excited to see on Friday, July 31.

Gabriel Garzon-Montano: 12:00 PM on the Pepsi Stage

Brooklyn native Gabriel Garzon-Montano first caught my attention when the eve before Drake’s latest album If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late was released. On that night, the self-proclaimed Champagne Papi published a video titled Jungle, featuring the song. Infamous for finding and sampling unknown talent, Mr. Montano became Drake’s latest discovery. The sweet croons of “Rock me real slowly.../Put a bib on me.../I’m just like a baby drooling over you…” heard on Jungle comes from Gabriel’s song 6 8. Like every other hidden gem, 6 8 a just piece of the greatness Gabriel Garzon-Montano has to offer. Watch the video for his track Everything Is Everything.

Glass Animals: 2:15PM on the Samsung Galaxy Stage

Hailing from Oxford, England, Glass Animals have found major success stateside with their trippy, entrancing sound . Playing one of the main stages midafternoon is, in my opinion, an important spot for bands. In the past I’ve seen Foster The People, Alt-J, and Tame Impala play this timeslot/ stage combination, each drawing massive crowds. This year Tame Impala and Alt-J play the mainstage directly before the headliners (FTP had this slot last year), catchin my drift? Not only can we expect a big crowd, but we expect an even bigger sound from this British quartet. Watch Glass Animals perform "Gooey” for Triple J below and tell us what you think they mean by “peanut butter vibes."

BØRNS: 5:40PM on the BMI Stage

Garrett Borns, an LA transplant by way of Michigan returns to the midwest for this year’s Lollapalooza festival and brings with him an enchanting set filled with old school glamour and charming lyrics. With only a handful of songs released, the singer-songwriter boasts over 18 Million streams of his breakout track, “Electric Love.” That being said, it’s safe to say we have high expectations from BØRNS’ Friday night set and imagine we will be anything but let down. Stream songs from BØRNS’ debut EP, Candy, on Youtube below.

The Weeknd: 8:30 PM on the Bud Light Stage

The-Weeknd

Abel Tesfaye, better known as The Weeknd, has had one hell of a year. After his much anticipated debut album sold less than 300,000 copies, this Toronto singer decided to change it up. In a recent interview with NY Times, the R&B star admitted he’s making the decision to go Pop (understandably, after the extreme success his songs on the 50 Shades of Grey soundtrack had.) Although Trilogy, a combination the first three projects he released, blasted The Weeknd to underground stardom, I’m thrilled to see where he’ll take his already unique sound next. His sophomore album Beauty Behind The Madness drops next month. Listen to his latest hit from the project, I Can’t Feel My Face.
