Once in a blue moon, you see an artist truly own the stage they are performing on. The crowd lingers on their every word and nearly silences between cheers, taking deep breaths while they echo every lyric. During Tyler, the Creator’s set at Merriweather Post Pavilion on September 21, he had a packed-out crowd eating out of the palm of his hand. Donned in a custom suit and his new IGOR persona, Tyler captivated us all on the last day of summer, serving new bops weaved with classics from his extensive discography, leaving time to laugh with the crowd in between songs.
