Preview: Celebrating David Bowie at The Fillmore

The North American tour of Celebrating David Bowie officially kicks off at The Fillmore in Silver Spring, MD this Saturday, February 10th. Comprised of "friends, Bowie bandmates and world-class players performing a career spanning concert of Bowie music, Bowie style," the production is not to meant to be a tribute to Bowie, but rather a true Celebration of the prolific artist and individual he was.

Celebrating David Bowie will feature "a rotating ensemble with world class multi-instrumentalists changing song to song...highlighting elements that influenced Bowie and that in turn Bowie influenced: pop culture experimentation, art, fashion, science and futurism." The artist leading the ensemble will be Mike Garson, who played piano for Bowie's first and final US shows -- and 1000 other concerts in between. Other members of the ensemble will include legendary guitarist Earl Slick (Diamond Dogs, Young Americans, and Reality), Bowie band-leader Gerry Leonard (A Reality Tour), and Let's Dance/Serious Moonlight tour bassist Carmine Rojas. Drummer Lee John Madeloni, vocalist Bernard Fowler, known for his work with The Rolling Stones. 2017 Grammy nominee Gaby Moreno will also be part of the rotating band in select cities as well as Living Colour frontman Corey Glover who is joining the tour for select east coast stops.
