Disco isn’t dead, and U.S. Girls is here to prove it. Fronted by Meg Remy, who floats on stage with what seems like an effortless cool, this experimental pop project is constantly evolving. While Remy’s most recent record “In a Poem Unlimited” oozes a groovy, 70’s-inspired musicality, 2008’s fuzz-ridden “Introducing” is much more experimental, flaunting a brash grit worthy of Remy’s riot grrrl admiration.

Seeing U.S. Girls perform live is a gift, as a massive band brings Remy’s colorfully composed tracks to life. As we prepare for their set at U St Music Hall on Sunday, April 28, we put together a playlist of our favorite U.S. Girls tracks to help get us through the rest of the week. Enjoy these funky tunes, and don’t miss your chance to experience the magic of Meg Remy’s music this weekend.
